HELL, ANYONE KNOWS HOW TO SEND EMAIL, RIGHT? NOT!!!
An email is NOT A TELEGRAM. It is an electronic LETTER! Be polite. Say please and thank you. When asking for information, give all the necessary information as to what your referring to. Many people have several ads posted with different products. They get an email that says: saw your ad--would like info. Or just: send more info! How can they answer that? I get those and just delete them. They could also be traps to get you to spam. They could also be an excuse so the person requesting the information can send you his.
Sign your email the way you would a letter--Respectfully yours, Sincerely, Very truly yours, or whatever your style is, then a couple of spaces and your 2 or 3 line signature.
IMPORTANT---INVALID EMAIL ADDRESSES.
One of my pet peeves is to receive an email offer, asking me to join their venture or give them money to join their venture, and they have an invalid email address. I am only allowed to respond to their webpage but cannot send an email.
I check all my email, but before I do, I check first to see if their email address is valid. If it's not, their mail gets deleted. If someone is sending you an offer and you cannot respond to them by email, then 1) they're doing something illegal; 2) they want to send you an offer but don't want one from you; or 3) they are definitely hiding something. Before you check out anyone's website that you receive by email, send them an email first asking for more information. Remember to include all the necessary information when asking, and send a copy of his offer with it. If you get it back undeliverable, do not check out their website. Just delete it.
A legitimate business man wants to hear from his potential customers and would never send out an email with a "bogus" return address, unless it is not legitimate, or he's running a one-way street (wants you to join his venture but is not interested in yours), or he's hiding something. One of the most unprofessional things you can do is to send an email with a "bogus" address. You are definitely not running a legitimate business if you don't want to hear from your potential customers.
One more thing about email. Put your email on your website so people can find you.
If you're going to be your own boss and a good business person, be a responsible business person and not a jerk.
MOODS HAVE NO PLACE IN BUSINESS
Yes, you can go it alone if you have the stick-to-it tenacity that's needed and willing to work hard. If you're moody and get "gung-ho" about something one day and then can't be bothered with it the next, then you need a boss and a 9 to 5 job. If you can make yourself do things, even when you don't want to be bothered or your sick and not feeling well, you'll make it. And when you make rules for yourself, stick to them. It kind of all boils down to self-discipline, doesnt it?
